The outstanding Russian poet and writer Boris Pasternak (1890-1960) took a course on logic offered by the head of the Marburg neo-Kantian logic school, Herman Cohen, at St. Philip College in Marburg in 1912. His first steps and presentations at the philosophical seminar were noticed and approved by his professor. But Pasternak preferred an artistic to a philosophical career. The city of Marburg and its academic circle left a visible trace in Pasternak`s life and poetry. This book includes Pasternak`s letters of April 1912 - February 1923 to his family and Ol`ga Freidenberg, his poetry of this period, archival documents about his activities in the college. Over 50 illustrations.
