Language: Russian
This is a book on the history of the Ossetian issue and the relations of the Ossetians with Russia and Georgia from the beginning to the present. North Ossetia lived by the laws of the Russian Empire while South Ossetia practically remained under the Georgian rule. Stalin continued with this tradition moving the borders with Georgia so that it gained control over the entire Voenno-Gruzinskaia road. When Georgia became an independent state, it expelled the Ossetians from their back yard. The author describes all the events of the Ossetian-Geogian conflict, and stresses the positive role of Russia as the only sponsor of South Ossetia`s existence.
