The long lasting argument about the authorship of the Nobel award winning novel "Quiet Don" is much more than just an argument about a literary fraud. It has became a trial process over soviet methods of designing literature and culture at large. This book is a book of memoirs of Evgeniia Levitskaia (1880-1961), a hard core Bolshevik since 1903. She was a head of literary department of the publishing house Moskovskii Rabochii that published Quiet Don for the first time in 1928. Since then Levitskaia corresponded with Sholokhov. His letters are also published in this book with her diaries for the first time. Both publications are prepared by journalist Lev Kolodnyi, the author of the books "Kto Napisal "Tikhii Don" (1995) and "Kak Ia Nashel "Tikhii Don" (2000), both are also available.
