The long-running discussion about the authorship of the novel "The Quiet Don" is interesting in itself because it helped to develop and master methods of analysis of origins, methods and technology of writing. This is a collection of works of journalist and politician V.I. Samarin, which were published in local periodicals in 1996-2002. Samarin conducted his own textual analysis of Sholokhov`s works and showed that Sholokhov could not be the author of this famous novel. The afterword to this collection by A.G. Makarov and S. E. Makarova contains the criticism of a recently published volumetric monograph "Tikhii Don: Sud`ba i Pravda Romana" by F.F. Kuznetsov. Also included is a detailed bibliography of the discussion about the authorship of the novel "The Quiet Don" and a link to a new web site on this topic.
