This is a description of the research project to create a historical differential dictionary of the 19th century Russian language. This future dictionary should show in the dynamics of word use, evolution of lexics of Russian literary language, the addition of new words and phraseology and obsolete words, change of norms of literary language. The idea of this dictionary belongs to Iu. Sorokin and L. Kutina, recently deceased. A research proposal for this project was prepared by their colleagues from the Institute of Linguistic Studies at St. Petersburg. The research team prepared about 100,000 card citations of quotes from various sources on the 19th century. This book describes the structure and methodology of the future dictionary. Bibliography.
