This is a catalog of two exhibitions Moscow-Paris and Paris-Moscow, which took place in 1981 in the Russian and French capitals. The scale of the exhibition was unprecedented for that time. Cultural dialog between these two centers of arts had always existed, but it was especially dense and fruitful in the first third of the 20th century. Volume one contains essays by leading Russian and French art critics on the history of artistic connections and mutual projects in various arts: painting, architecture, posters, theater, literature, music, cinema, and photography. Also included are biographies of exhibition participants and a short catalog. Volume two includes reproductions of the exhibits.
