The author has analyzed a large corpus of unique materials of the last 150 years on Teleut shamans and Shor story tellers. The Teleut and Shor are two small indigenous peoples of Siberia. This monograph is based on archival and literatary sources, and previous studies, as well as on the author`s own materials and data collected during field work in the 1980s-1990s.
