This is a special issue of a journal of research in the biography, scientific legacy and epoch of M.M. Bakhtin. The journal publishes theoretical works, materials from archives and other sources connected with Bakhtin, his circle and his time. Among the contributors to the volume are scholars from around the world: I. Ito, G. Nilsen, N. Pan`kov, E. Tsygankova, etc. This issue includes several articles about P.N.
