This catalog includes over 1,000 Russian Orthodox church music pieces by over 50 composers created in the period from 1765 to 1825 called the epoch of classicism in Russian music. Among the composers were both Russian musicians, Bortnianskii and his contemporaries, and foreigners who wrote music at the request of the Russian Imperial Court. Some of the musical motets included in this catalog are still performed, the others are completely forgotten. This catalog is the most complete collection of sacred music of the epoch of classicism, including works of art and secondary works, with and without a composer. Many original scores of this music were lost and were restored only from publications or private copies. Works are arranged by composer. Bibliography, short biographical sketches about composers.
