This translation of the masterpiece of the Old Russian literature was made by a famous master of Russian literature Vladimir Nabokov. It was published in New York in 1960 with his comments and introduction. This book consists of two parts. The first is a reprint of the 1960 publication, a translated version of The Song. The second part is The Song in Old Russian in reconstruction of Dmitrii Likhachev with illustrations of Natalia Goncharova (Munchen, 1923) which was used by Nabokov. An introduction to this book by V.P. Stark tells the story of this translation. Afterword by O.A. Beloborodova describes the history and artistic value of Goncharova`s illustrations. Index.
