The Russian settlement in the lands of Siberia and the Far East in the 16th-18th centuries started with Ermak`s march to Siberia in 1582-85, resulting in the annexation of Siberia to the Russian Empire. The book tells the story of the old states on these territories, their ethnogenesis, numerous Russian explorers, discoverers of hitherto unknown lands: Fedot Kholmogorets, Semen Dezhnev, Vasilii Poiarkov, etc. The culmination of the Russian annexation became the Russian expedition led by V. Bering and A. Chirikov and the creation of the Russian-American Company in 1799. Bibliography (58 titles).
