Aleksandr Vasilevskii (1895-1977) a marshal of the USSR, was one of the military leaders who brought the Russian victory in WWII. His military career after the war was also very successful: leader of the Russian General Staff (1946-1949), Minister of Defense (1949-1953). This book was first published in 1975. It also includes memoirs by his two sons about their father.
